Beauty. The world is obsessed with it. But what is "true" beauty? These bodies will age and deteriorate as time goes on. May we invest our time, mind and heart in that which will last for an eternity... a beautiful spiritual heart. Sooner or later, as we travel along this road of life, we all will ask ourselves some similar questions. Why is this happening to me? Why can't I stop worrying? Why am I suffering? How can I forgive? Why do I feel empty inside? Why is God not answering my prayers? What is my life all about? Which is the "right" religion? Where do we find "real" peace? In this world there is illness, loss, fear, unhappiness, and most of all a world full of the darkness of sin. So where is our peace found? How can we find comfort in all that is going on around us? We all can remember the excitement that built up in the time before that special day. That person we love so much will become our life-long mate, our closest companion, the one we will share all this life brings our way. But in a world that is filled with dark times and hardships, did you know that you will be vital to his life? Christ tells us, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." We often are nervous or fearful about "shining bright" for Christ. People may think we're strange, talk too much about faith and we make them uncomfortable with their own unbelief. So how do we obey Jesus and let our light shine for Him?
Few things in a man’s life are more life changing than becoming a dad. Somehow the heart and mind are suddenly seeing the world through new eyes.
There is "someone" that is now part of you and part of your spouse. The blessing of a baby is a miraculous gift from God. Looking at this child, a new dad can realize now that he is accountable to God for the care and raising of this child. As you honor the new dad in your life, here are a few ways you can help him as he navigates the changes his new role brings. When you view life with this "new" focus, you can turn to God and say... "OK Lord, I will get through this with Your strength, then I eagerly await how You will used this to lead others to Your saving grace!" Remember, nothing happens in your life that does not pass by His eye's first. It's a cloudy and rainy day here in the Georgia mountains, yet it is refreshing. Today is the one day in the week that I can slow down and think. After morning worship, I come home and prepare dinner while hubby heads to the fishing hole before Nascar begins. About 2pm I retreat to the computer desk to think, write and pray on what to share in the coming week.
Light a flame in my soul for the world to see! I look at the faces of the young people in this video and I get excited. We need this young generation to stand for, stand up and speak out louder than the darkened minds of those who desire to turn this nation away from God. NOW it the time.
Seeing the faces in this video gives me hope; hope that there is still time to seek God and save a nation. Together we share our trials, hurts and loss. But as we find comfort in each other and strengthen each other we must remember to keep reaching. Reaching for what you ask? Day after day the heartbreaking news keeps coming and coming. The friend who has cancer, the husband who left his wife and kids, the mother who wonders why her daughter left home, the brother who lost his job due to addiction. The stories are tragic, and yet you have your own. Each year we get a bit older and so do our children. I do not know how you feel about this, but no matter what age my children are, I still see them in my heart as a little child. Sure I am looking into the eyes of a grown man and a grown woman, but my heart sees them in a different light. Do you feel the same way? Let me tell you more...
It needs to be done. It does not matter who you are, what you do, where you live. Things get dusty, out of sorts, misplaced and piled up. It is time to clean out and let it all shine. We procrastinate about it, and wonder why things have gotten so out of hand. For some, they just assume skip it, and let it all accumulate. But wait...I am not even talking about your house!
You would have to be a fool to believe that! And yet there is so much in this world that people believe without delving into the facts for themselves. April 1st has long been celebrated as April Fool's Day. The day was also called All Fools’ Day, and has been celebrated for several centuries by different cultures; its exact origins remain a mystery. Some historians speculate April Fools’ Day dates back to 1582. But it is no mystery that this world is filled with millions of fool's! Are you a fool for what this world is trying to convince you of?
