They are NOT your friend!

6/3/2016

No matter who we are or what age we are, we all need to have certain people around us that we call our friends.  We need to feel wanted, special in their life.  We need friends to laugh with and enjoy people, places and things with.
But are they "really" your friend?

We have all heard the phrase "good time friend."   They are the person who is enjoyable to be around as long as the going is good. They want you to come along for the ride, but their friendship is paper thin.
Then there is the "frenemy," who pretends to be your friend but has no interest or understanding of what a real friend is.  You cannot confide or trust in this person of this nature.

  • Teen years can be difficult unless you are well grounded in your belief system and know that God loves you and you are special.  Christ IS your best friend.  Most of the friends a teen has, she will never see again after graduation, so who cares if they think you are "strange" as a young woman of faith.
  • College years come with their own new set of trials and roots need to be "deep" in Christ to stay strong.  There is a strong desire to pull away from the faith, this is the ultimate test of strength.
  • As we enter the work realm, here again we are surrounded by so-called friends and acquaintances that will try to pull you away from your roots in Christ.
  • Mom's raising children will be tempted also to accept books and movies and current trends.  The darkness of this world will constantly attack the family, to draw them away from Christ.
  • Every phase of womanhood is a battle with the "things" of the world.
  • Remember that decisions determine destiny and always make your decisions based on Christ.

I hope to share "1" important fact with you:

Anyone who "pulls" you away from God is NOT your friend, no matter what age you are, 16 or 60.

Draw close to Christ and He will draw close to you
and strengthen you to withstand the "pull"
of the world and people who really
are not your friends.

Ask God to place "faith-filled" women in your life...He will!

He has done this for me time and time again.  Over the years we all will be friendly with people from all walks of life and enjoy their company.  We laugh with them, work with them and care for them.  Not everyone you come in contact with or enjoy company with will know Christ or have a growing relationship with Him. But when a woman of faith needs to grow spiritually, confide, trust and share prayer requests...she needs another like-minded woman who also loves Christ with all her heart.
Together you are sister's in Christ, bonded for eternity and accountable  to each other.  We pray, encourage, keep each other on track and share trials.  This experience is such a blessing, I just cannot put into words what a special friendship this is!
When you awake at 2 A.M and you are heartbroken or fearful, what a comfort it is to fall to your knee's in prayer and then also have that special sister in Christ that you can call and pray with.
There has been countless times that I have prayed  with a sister over the phone, texted in times of emergency for prayer, and felt the comfort that they were sincere in their concern for me.

May you also experience this blessing as a woman of faith.  As a sister in Christ you are never alone. Seek out those special women.  This is the reason "M" Words came to be.   Blessings to you!  -- Jo

Lord, I pray that every woman reading this will understand that she needs another sister in Christ.  This world will try to pull us away from You with trials and fears.  May You place that special woman on her path, guide & spiritually strengthen them along this road of life. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
