Are you concerned? What kind of question is that? Of course any parent would be concerned. Any parent would carefully consider the options before placing their child in the hands of a surgeon. They would carefully assess the skills and experience of the doctor and ask questions regarding the post operative results.
As parents, we all desire the best life for our child and want what is best for their well-being.
If a child has a physical problem, we seek out a qualified physician who we feel can help us resolve the issue and make our child whole once again. This precious child that we have been blessed with is entrusted to our care. From the first moment we knew this life was within, we have prayed and protected this child. Our child at birth is introduced into the arms of parents that long to love, teach and nourish the heart and mind. We show them love, truth and discipline. Why?
Because as a Christian parent, we are commanded to raise the child in the Christian way.
Once exposed to the outside world, through public school and activities outside the faith-filled home, the child becomes an easy target for heart and brain surgery. The Bible tells us that there is no neutral ground in this world... you are either with Jesus or you are against Him:
“He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters.” Matthew 12:30
God tells Christian parents to nourish our children with His Word and His Truth. He tells us to bind them their hearts and minds. From an early age our children view the family as mom, dad, grandparents, sisters and brothers. Marriage is the foundation of society and is between a man and a woman. The public school now tells your child that marriage is not between a man and a woman; the truth is really found in evolution and homosexuality and that abortion is a right, on demand.
These teachings have implications, which we are now seeing in the college generation. As much as I care about my precious homosexual friends, I am strong in my stance that marriage is between a man and a woman. How another chooses to live their life is their choice. We all are accountable for our decisions in life.
How many of us look back at our lives and are grieved because we did not learn about and apply the truths of His Word at an earlier age? “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17
As our children grow, they will go through years trying to figure out life for themselves and seek answers for unanswered questions. When they have the foundation and His Word hidden within, they may stray off track, but will have His Truth deep inside them.
Prayer is the most powerful tool we have as parents.
I pray that most of all as parents, we would pray for our children daily.
I encourage parents to be careful and investigate your child's school carefully. Do not assume a school is excellent simply because it has Christian in its name. We all cannot afford to send our child to a Christian school, and when that is the case, we must be very vigilant in church children's programs and youth programs. Our priority is the heart and mind of our child - their eternity may depend on it. The question for Christian parents today is this: Will you willing give your child's heart and brain to the wrong educational environment? The hearts and minds of our children and the future spiritual condition of our country await our answer. Comments are closed.
