"Sin." The word causes us to hold our breath and say, "Who me?" Actually when we come to this question, we have come to the most pivotal point in our life. It is a place that God has said we will all come to. It is what we do when we come to this place that will determine the rest of our life and eternity. As we struggle to admit we are not a perfect person, we are humbled and and answer is required. I answered this question in 1991. Yes, we are all sinner's and we are born that way. No arguing that since this is what the Bible clearly tells us. "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 So now that we know we are all guilty, let's see what "type" we are. Did you know there are only 2 type's of people on this earth? Two type's of sinners to be exact -- lost sinners and saved sinners. The lost sinner is going down the road of life without understanding that if they should die at any moment, they will spend eternity in hell, no if's, and's, or but's. Jesus speaks of heaven and hell, there is no place else to detour to. The saved sinner has already met Christ along their road in life, and has humbly come to Him and asked for forgiveness of sin. They are now cleansed and comforted with the promise of a heavenly home! Now, they are not perfect and will fall short, but are His child.
Christmas is a time to remember the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus, but most importantly is to understand "why" He came. He came to save us from our sin. “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:17 So along with remembering His birth, be sure you understand the "why" and accept His free gift of salvation. You can be saved right now if you are one of the lost sinner's. Tell Him you desire to be cleansed of sin. You understand He died and paid a sin debt that you owed. Ask Him into your heart and life.
