I love being surrounded by the captivating beauty of the mountains. The handiwork of the Creator changes day by day and you are filled with anticipation at what each refreshing breath-taking view. But did you know that the mountains can also offer "breath-giving" views? They are the views that can breathe hope into your heart. In Psalm 27, David comes to see one such life-giving mountaintop view! God sets David "up upon a rock." From this spot, David can see that, "in God," he has protection from his enemies. But most importantly, David can see that he has a future and a life. In his confidence, he shouts, "I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." (vs 13) As we go about out daily routine, we become worn and tired. As we try to be faithful in all things, as a woman of faith, it seems to become more and more difficult. But in trying to work this difficulty out on our own, we do not come to understand that God invites us to come out to the mountain to see the view from His point of view. That point of view is from the cross - the view of Christ. Jesus had a life-giving mountaintop view. You see, from the hill called Golgotha, He could see our future! It was an awesome "life-giving" view. No matter what you encounter on your journey in this life, remember the view that Jesus had for you - the breath giving view. Remember that He gave you that awesome point of view carry you through no matter what you may face in this life. Yes, there will be long dark roads that you might surely find yourself on, but dwell on the "breath-giving" view that God allowed David to see... the same is given to you. Thank You Jesus! God where were You?
You were right there - I just needed to come to see You! Comments are closed.
