Why Easter morning? I know that Easter is a very special day, but is not each day the Lord blesses us with a special day? Surely the Lord would love to spend quiet time alone with us each and every day, and we so often miss out on the blessing. The blessing of being closely connected to Christ. We rely on Jesus as our vine (John 15:1-8). A branch is connected directly to the vine and, through the vine, we are linked directly to Christ. Without time alone with God, we will find needs unmet; we will not truly know the abundant life He gives. It is all about a relationship. God desires “alone time” with us. He wants a personal relationship with us. He created us as individuals, “knitting” us in the womb (Psalm 139:13). God knows the intimate details of our lives, such as the number of hairs on our heads (Luke 12:7). He knows the sparrows individually, and “you are worth more than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:29, 31). He invites us to come to Him and know Him (Isaiah 1:18; Revelation 22:17; Song of Solomon 4:8). When we desire to know God intimately, we will seek Him early (Psalm 63:1) and spend time with Him. We will be like Mary, sitting at Jesus’ feet listening to His voice (Luke 10:39). May we pray and talk to Him each and every day. Thanking Him even before the blessings of the day. Good morning Lord...
In the quietness of the early morn I thank You for a new day. In the stillness and anticipation of the dawn, I give thanks for Your blessings that will come along the way. Before the day begins. Before the birds sing. Before I go about my day, I will thank You. Before the world awakens, I praise You Lord. Today new life will begin; babes will be born and tears of joy worn. Today lives will end, some strangers, some friends. For some, tears and sadness will begin - may they find comfort in You who lives deep within. Today pain and trials will touch upon some; I pray You fill them with comfort, for what is to come. May Your child feel Your closeness and give them sweet peace. Let them know You are present, that You comfort will never cease. Lord for myself I do pray... Help me in all I do and say. As many cross my path, give me opportunity to share, the knowledge that You Lord, are waiting for their cry. Give me the words that they need to hear, then work in their heart, that they too may be saved. This life is not about my goals or dreams, not about wants but just Your needs. Help me to be stronger than my pain. Help me to be braver than the darkness. Help my faith be stronger than my fears. Help me to be the woman of faith, You desire me to be. Comments are closed.
