Each New Year we all begin with high hopes for a better, healthier and happier year ahead. Yet as the days pass, we soon see that this year will be like any other year. It will be sprinkled here and there with some doubt, despair, drama, depression and some disappointment. So why not prepare now to face what lies ahead with confidence? It has often been said that "we are not really ready to live until we are prepared to die." Are you prepared? I am. I am confident in Christ who has set me free from sin and has promised to help me through all I face in this world. The coming year may bring circumstances out of my control, but no circumstance is ever out of His control. It is when we "die" to this life of the world and begin a new life "in" Christ that we die to self and live for Him, through Him. King David faced many great problems in life. But yet read what he writes here, in Psalm 71, verse 20: You, which have shown me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth. In all his problems, David knew God was aware of the situations. In fact, these things happened in his life because God allowed them. God had allowed David to sink very low at times. But yet David knew that God could restore his life once again. Have you ever felt like you were at the bottom of a pit? Have you ever felt such despair you thought you could not go on? Have you ever wished you would just die? From my own experience, that it is not a pleasant place to be. It is lonely, it is dark. But I can tell you that His hand is ready to reach deeper than you deepest low! No matter what you may face this year, you will find His hand ready if you have died to your own self and are born again to live for Him. God has a set limit to how low He will allow us to experience. All in His timing and in His will, and in His way, He will help you our of that situation. You will feel His presence and will feel alive again, ready to live for Him. As we enter this new year, know that there is no need to worry. Plan to die to "self" and live for Him. He will lift you up and carry you through all situations. Just look up, and fix your eyes on Christ! Comments are closed.
