Are you in the right line?

Ah yes, it is a wonderful time of the year!

A time of lists, lines, crowds, bargains, deadlines, discounts, planning, parties and... oh, I hope I didn’t forget anything! I am good at that.

It’s a time of caring and giving, donating, volunteering, and supporting those in need, it would be just terrible to forget someone that really needs our attention and love especially at this time of the year.

Yet o
ver the years I have come to realize that those who mean the most to me do not need or expect me to do anything other than love and support them throughout the year. They know I am there for them and I in turn know they are there for me, any day of the year.

We all forget things. . .

So check that list twice, we know Santa does!

But please, do one thing for me...
as you
go over your list this year, as you rush to the stores and stand in the long lines to get those special items, just take some time to look around. Look at the people with determined looks on their faces, focused on a goal, focused on completing the task that is on their list for Christmas. They have one thing on their mind - getting the perfect gift.

Yes, this is supposedly the season of joy, but many have no real joy within them.  Maybe that is the perfect gift they need this year.  Some inner joy would be the best gift ever, so where do we get that?

Christmas has become self-centered instead of Christ centered.
The world has purposely drowned out the reason we have this special season.
Many
do not even believe in God, let alone His Son, the babe brought into this world.

People will stand in line for hours before the store opens. People will stand in line for Santa. They will stand in line to charge their cards to the limit. Then even stand in line at the post office to be sure their package arrives at the right place at the perfect time. They will travel near and far to gather with friends and family. Without a care it seems, people will take time for the party and finding the perfect holiday outfit to wear.

But where is Christ in all this?
This is supposedly all about HIS birth.

Where are the long lines to get into the church service to hear about Jesus and what He has done for us as sinners?  This baby Jesus will be the man who will be beaten and nailed to a cross for you.  Yes, for you.

Christmas is only “1” day, but with your last breath there is an eternity to worry about.

There is only “1” thing we must be certain of in this life.
There is only “1” perfect gift in this life.
The gift that only Christ can give.
The gift of forgiving sin.
The gift of eternal life.
Got that gift?

So where is the line to see Jesus?

My fondest wish this season is that everyone reading this and listening to this song, will find time for JESUS; especially find time to tell their children and grandchildren about the precious babe in the manger.

Don't let the world hide the real reason for the season.
Thank You Lord JESUS that You are so patient with a world that desires to hide You.
Thank You for giving us more time to tell others about Your saving grace.
