Ah yes, it is a wonderful time of the year!
A time of lists, and lines, and crowds, and bargains, and deadlines, and discounts, and planning, and parties and... oh, I hope I do not forget anything! I am good at that. Forgetting to send someone that card or gift would be terrible. In this time of caring and giving, and donating, and volunteering, and supporting those in need, it would be just terrible to forget someone that really needs our attention and love especially at this time of the year. Yet over the years I have come to realize that those who mean the most to me do not need or expect me to do anything other than love and support them throughout the year. They know I am there for them and I in turn know they are there for me, any day of the year. We all forget things. . .
So yes, check that list twice, we know Santa does!
But please, do one thing for me... as you go over your list this year, as you rush to the stores and stand in the long lines to get those special items, just take some time to look around. Look at the people with determined looks on their faces, focused on a goal, focused on completing the task that is on their list for Christmas. Glance up at the faces as you stand in line and give them a smile. Do any glance back at you with a smile? Do you see any light in their eyes or joy on their faces? Are they polite, courteous and patient? Yes, this is supposedly the season of joy, but many have no real joy within them. Why? Maybe it is because Christmas has really become self-centered instead of Christ centered. The world has purposely drowned out the reason we have this special season. Many do not even believe in God, let alone His Son, the babe brought into this world. Yes, people will stand in line for Santa and stand in line at the post office to be sure their package is sent off. They will stand outside the store door to be the first to purchase a special item, they will find the time and energy to get their tasks done that are demanded of them in this season that gives them a few days off of work. They will travel near and far to gather with friends and family. They will make time for the party and drinks, but there certainly is no time or any long line to hear about JESUS. So where is the line to see Jesus?

My fondest wish this season is that everyone reading this and listening to this song, will find time for JESUS; especially find time to tell their children and grandchildren about the precious babe in the manger. Don't let the world hide the real reason for the season. Thank You Lord JESUS that You are so patient with a world that desires to hide You. Thank You for giving us more time to tell others about Your saving grace.
