A week ago, last Thursday, hubby and I went for ice cream and then stopped a while by the river.
As we left, we were 5 minutes down the road, when I looked over at him in the passenger seat and noticed his chin on his chest and eyes closed. I said his name twice, no answer. It was the beginning of another dark valley in our lives. He was having a stroke. He was admitted to ICU with a brain bleed. With the coronavirus, I was not permitted to be with him, just leave him at the ER and sit in the parking lot. It was at this time that I needed to draw on the Comforter within to speak softly to me and calm my anxiety. It was now that I needed to reach in my purse for my small bible and fill myself with His promises. Yes, I needed to dig deep and pull out all those promises and verses I had hidden in my heart and mind! Today I am thankful he is home recuperating. Yes, forgetful at times, mistaking the TV remote for his cell phone. Asking me things he just asked me a few minutes ago. But I am thankful he was not called Home yet. I pray God will give me physical and emotional strength to be the wife I need to be for him now. I pray God will allow him to be here with me longer, but if that is not in HIS plan, I know all will still be OK. As my husband told the ER nurse, I am find with dying, I am a winner either way...if I go or if I stay. SOMEONE else is in control. Friends in Christ, hide those promises in His Word in your heart! Have a very blessed Resurrection Sunday! One day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that JESUS CHRIST is Lord. Comments are closed.
