Hi! My name is Amanda James and I am so excited to be writing to you all! It was an honor when my friend Jo ask me to join "M" Words and the Christian Woman as an ongoing blog contributor.
I admit, I was wondering about what I could possibly write to you that you would get something
out of.  Well, here goes!
A bit about me...
I am a mother of 4 children ranging from 4 years to 29 years!
I have a granddaughter age 6, and I am expecting a grandson in September. I'm married to a mailman, and I have just retired from nursing to stay home with my 4 year old son, so I he can be home schooled. I love riding horses, reading and mentoring young women. I love spending time with my family and friends!

My house is never quiet and I like it that way.  I once had 27 people staying for four days during the time of a funeral for a dear uncle. My life is not perfect, but I am happy because I have Jesus. I have learned that many words are meaningless but to stand in awe of God is all that truly matters.

Now for this weeks blog...

The Night the Light Came On

Picture
While watching "Miracles from Heaven" with my husband and 4 year old son, I was attempting to explain to Seth why the little girl was so sick, and even though she fell down in the tree, she was made well by a miracle from Jesus. The moment I said "Jesus," my Himalayan salt lamp came on by itself.

You see the lamp had been burned out for over two months and I had been too busy to fix it.
We had a pretty tough day, some arguing over things and some tough decisions to be made. We were feeling down and hoped the movie would pick us up.
Well Jesus wanted us to know he was listening, and that even over the small things, he really cares.
He cares for you too the same way! So can you imagine my shock when the light lit up all by itself when Jesus' name was mentioned?
I suddenly felt hope and love!

Seth said,  "Momma, Jesus shines his light even when it's not supposed to work!" (Talking about the salt lamp.) I started thinking about how important it is for us to show others the light of Jesus in us and even when we think it is not supposed to work!

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven.

So when you are at school, work or home, and you think it may not help to be nice or kind...
try it anyway, you never know who might see
your light shining and you may give them some hope too!

                                                                             Blessings til next time!
