The world will try to mold you... but
be determined to be the woman that GOD
desires for you to be!
A magical moment...
It’s a beautiful sunny day, and I am soaking up the Lord’s goodness.
Here I am, babysitting little ones, watching as they throw their rubber balls haphazardly at a mini basketball hoop. “Watch me! Watch me!” The tiny preschoolers yell as they toss.
And even when they miss, I still praise them for trying. They smile and pick up another ball.
Over and over again, they throw and they fail.
And then it happens, the magical moment when they land their shot!
This is a reflection of our walk with God.
We are constantly crying out “watch me, watch me!” as we explore our world and try new things.
Is our validation coming from our Abba Father, who is smiling at us and praising our efforts?
Or are we putting our worth in the unsteady approval of others in this world?
Lovely one, we must become like little children again. This is how we enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Maybe you don’t remember that innocence or freedom from youth. Perhaps your earthly parents let you down or failed to give you praise when you took a shot at life.
But your Heavenly Father is always there, and He’s smiling at His children’s efforts. God sees you, and He’s speaking good things over your life.
God formed you and called you. He carries you in perfect love (Isaiah 46:3-4).
When you come to Jesus, come as a child. Come in complete dependence and surrender. Come with trust, faith, and a longing for joy and wonder. Come with a willingness to love and be filled with unconditional love.
A good Father doesn’t love His children based on performance or how many hoops they made. He just loves them for picking up the ball, for existing and lighting up His world.
We love because he first loved us. (1 John 4:19 NIV)
Lovely one, Jesus is your eternal Father, your Daddy. You can always come back home, even if you’ve turned away to sin, fear, or doubt. You can always choose to leave it all behind and follow your Father.
Jesus is waiting with open arms and a gentle smile. His call has always been the same.
“Won’t you come home, my child?”
So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.” (Luke 15:20 NIV)
