                                   slow down...

Take "10" minutes to read our posts.
Don't let the world mold you...

Let's talk about our fruit...by Amanda (part 2)

Last month I wrote part 1, of "the fruits of the spirit."
  • I had begun to think about my own faith and asked myself how well I was doing with the fruits of the spirit.
  • Is my fruit ripe and am I harvesting it in God's will?
  • Or is it rotten and not being used to serve God?
  • Is it perfect looking on the outside, but hollow and fake like a piece of ceramic fruit?
So here is part 2, continuing with this discussion...

I am hoping everyone is well out there! I have a new grandson that has been keeping me busy!
My youngest son also turned 5 years old and we are doing lots of things. Last post we started with the fruits of the spirit and went through love, joy, peace and patience. We will start this post with "kindness."

Kindness- helps us relate to the needs of others. There is no meanness or hate. It is a moral goodness that overflows. Ask yourself, "Am I willing to serve others or am I too wrapped up in myself to notice the needs of others?"
Goodness- Reflects the heart of God. It is a desire to see the best in others. A form of holiness.
Ask yourself, "Can others see the light of God through me? Do I try to be an example to others so that they desire a deeper relationship with God?"
Faithfulness -a truly faithful person with real integrity. Someone who others look to for an example; to be truly devoted to Christ and seeking good for others and glory for God.  Ask yourself, "Am I indifferent to others or is my life characterized by faith in Christ, treating everyone the same?"
Gentleness -meekness is not weakness. It is the ability to forgive others, correct with kindness and live in tranquility. Question, "Do I come across to others as bossy and headstrong or do I allow the grace of God to flow through me to others?"
Self control - our fleshly selves are at constant battle with God's will for our lives. Choose to be controlled by the Holy Spirit and not the world. Question, "Am I pleasing God with the choices that I make?"

Walk in the spirit daily, pray and make your heart willing to serve others and obey God.
The rewards will far outreach anything you can imagine! If your heart is willing, God will ripen your fruits of the spirit!
                                                                          Until next time, Blessings,
