Selenium, CoQ10 Linked to
Reduced Death Risk A Swedish investigation has found that long-term supplementation with selenium and coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) reduced mortality related to cardiovascular disease by about 6%. According to a report in the International Journal of Cardiology, the supplement combination was also associated with considerable improvements in cardiac function. The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study enrolled 443 volunteers between the ages of 70 and 88; 228 of them completed the study four years later. The study group, which included staff from Linköping University and the Karolinska Institutet, that performed the research said the study results “cannot be ignored.” Comments are closed.
