"17" LIES your told about HEALTH...

So who is lying here?  
I've always told my children, "The punishment will be twice as bad if we ever come to see that you are telling a lie."  
Can you really trust anyone who you know are lying?You can never place confidence in that person.  Sadly there are many untruth's regarding health that we only know about if we do our own investigating.  Let's talk about some lies that we often believe regarding our health.

Liar, liar, pants on fire!

  1.  NATURAL does not mean it is good for you.  READ the label.  Please! Hidden there, in tiny print are things you would never consider natural.  Also where the product is from. 
  2. MERCURY (in your tooth fillings)  does not cause  a problem.  Wrong.  It can cause issues with your thyroid.
  3. GLUTEN does not affect the thyroid.  Wrong.  I have personally seen that it CAN cause issues.
  4. OLIVE OIL is bad for you.  Wrong. LOL.  It is an amazing oil for your health. 
  5. MICROWAVED food is just fine.  Wrong.   Especially popcorn. Never microwave. 
  6. MILK does a body good.  Wrong!  In my opinion that is. Grocery-store milk is more tainted than tap water.  Oh, and the part about pus?  Ughhhh.  Not to mention estrogen!
  7. PASTEURIZATION means milk is clean & pure.  Wrong again.  Kills nutrition, though.
  8. VACCINES?  Not harmful. Oh, we all will agree to disagree.  But I will NOT get flu or pneumonia vaccine.  No mercury, monkey or fetal cells for me.  Big pharma lie.  Doc's I worked with get sick once or twice in the winter and wonder why I do not.   LOL.  I use essential oils. 
  9. AUTISM?   Again, we will agree to disagree.  But several courts have agreed that vaccines cause autism.  I hope more people will pay attention and AT LEAST spread out these vaccines.  Really... why on earth does a newborn, just 12 hours old need the Hepatitis vaccine?  Really.
  10. Heating OLIVE OIL destroys nutritional value.   Wrong.  Cooking with olive oil below the smoke-point does not destroy most of its health benefits, or make it less healthy.
  11. Chewing GUM is beneficial.  Wrong.   Is releases sugar or artificial sugar and bathes your teeth in it. It can cause TMJ.   Chewing gum causes you to swallow excess air, which can contribute to abdominal pain and bloating seen with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).  When you chew gum you send your body physical signals that food is about to enter your body. The enzymes and acids that are activated when you chew gum are therefore released, but without the food they're intended to digest.   AND  this can cause bloating,  overproduction of stomach acid, and can compromise your ability to produce sufficient digestive secretions when you actually do eat food. Some people may also have adverse gastrointestinal symptoms, including diarrhea, from the artificial sweeteners that are commonly found in chewing gum.
  12. Farm raised salmon is just as good a wild caught.   Wrong again.  Farm-raised salmon doesn't have omega 3 fat like wild-caught does, and it's the omega 3 that blesses your socks off.
  13. BEEF is good for you.   Careful here.   Most of Europe bans U.S. beef as unsafe. And they're right, at least about grocery-store beef. Now grass-fed beef, though, is a health-promoting.
  14. EXERCISE builds muscle.  LOL.  You can exercise 10 hours a day, and it will not do a thing if you ain't got the proper diet and nutrition. 
  15. We get DIABETES, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE and CANCER because of our genes.  What? Sorry I strongly disagree after reading and researching on this.  It is not in your genes, it is in your diet.
  16. In OLD AGE it is natural for us to get sick, have pain and become slow in body and brain. WRONG!    It is in our hands.  Diet, movement, staying active and useful.  Making wise choices in what goes in our mouth, on our body, and if we decided to pop all those prescriptions.  
  17. Your LAB RESULTS ARE FINE.   Big mistake if you do not get a copy and look for yourself.  What may be borderline or tolerable may not be for your doctor.  Labs are NOT difficult to read.  Look at your numbers and start Googling.  Always get a copy of your lab work and keep it to compare to prior and future labs.

Again , I must add, I am not a physician.  But after over 22 yrs as a Med/Surg Asst.  I can tell you I have seen plenty of terrible things that could have been avoided if people were just educated.

Please be your own advocate and read, google, research, ask your doctor questions and get your labs.  Investigate, ask questions, don't be shy.
