We all know that we love strawberries, blueberries and a variety of other fruits.
Now there has been evidence to prove that there is health benefits in eating them. Really? A study now admits that berries increase the function of anti-cancer enzymes - wait a minute - so eating berries may prevent cancer cells from forming. This paper states, “The study also states that this information lays the foundation for the development of new drugs…”
What! We do not want NEW drugs. Eat the berries for heavens sake instead. Eat all the berries you desire...blueberries, raspberries, black currants, blackberries and others instead of drugs.
Wait! It gets better.
I recently read that vegetables may help protect elderly women from hardening of the neck arteries. Yes veggies! This study stated that broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and brussels sprouts proved most beneficial vegetables in preventing atherosclerosis.
Here again, we can control disease from our dish. Still, the researchers at The American Heart Association carefully disclaim that their study was significant. I am sure they desire to downplay this info also. They stated, “However, due to the observational nature of this study a causal relationship cannot be established.” Really?
Please...let's eat our berries and veggies!
