What did we ever do without them?
Heavens, we cannot leave home or seem to put them down. Children are glued to them unless wise parents pry them out of their hands and place a book in its place. Then they look at you as if to say, "What do I do with this?"
Cell phones - they have caused a social problem that I believe is not conducive to interpersonal communication and social circle skills. Cell phones - it seems there is a dependence on them and everyone one MUST have one. There is no turning back, they are here to stay but there must be guidelines for children and caution taken for all. So what about cell phone exposure health concerns?

But yet the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued put out some excellent guidelines that we all should follow to minimize our exposure.

The devices emit non-ionizing, electromagnetic radiation of the sort that heats food in a microwave oven, but scientists have struggled to conclusively link cellphone use to cancers or other illnesses.
I became concerned when I noticed my wrist and lower arm aching after long phone conversations.
Children are not just little adults; their growing minds and bodies make them uniquely vulnerable to the effects of the environment around them, including cell phone radiation. Because technology is being adopted by children at younger ages than ever before, it's even more important to investigate if cell phone usage is a health hazard.
So how can you reduce your exposure?
Reduce or avoid using your cell phone when it is sending out high levels of RF energy.
This happens mainly when:
• You see only one or two bars displayed. Cell phones put out more RF energy to connect with cell towers when the signal is weak.
• When you are in a fast-moving car, bus, or train, your phone puts out more RF energy to maintain connections to avoid dropping calls as it switches connections from one cell tower to the next unless it is in airplane mode.
• When you are streaming audio or video, or downloading or sending large files. To watch movies or listen to playlists on your phone, download them first, then switch to airplane mode while you watch or listen.
Please do not sleep with your phone in your bed or near your head. Unless the phone is off or in airplane mode, keep it at least a few feet away from your bed.
Take off the headset when you’re not on a call. Headsets release small amounts of RF energy even when you are not using your phone.
Parents should not panic over the latest research, but it can be used as a good reminder set a limit on a child's screen time and being on their cell phone along with other devices emitting radiation from electromagnetic fields.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) supports more research into just how our cell phone exposure can affect our health long term, particularly the health of a child.
My granddaughter is now two years old, and since her birth we have spent many hours on FaceTime. She now loves to hold the phone and blow kisses to her grandparents so far away. My concern is the cell phone radiation.
